The action started early with MJ blasting a 2-run home run in the first inning, setting the tone for a high-scoring battle. She later added a double, finishing 2-for-2 in five plate appearances with 4 RBIs and 4 stolen bases. MJ also started in the circle, dominating the early innings with 9 strikeouts in just three innings pitched.
The rivalry game stretched nearly three hours and kept fans on the edge of their seats. Heading into the bottom of the 7th, Bethel trailed 11-13. With the top of the lineup battling back to tie the game at 13-13 and bases loaded, the moment called for Katie Clark to delivered.
Stepping up to the plate, Katie smacked a line drive up the middle, bringing MJ home for the walk-off winning run. The crowd erupted as Bethel sealed a hard-fought league win against a longtime rival.
Both MJ and Katie earned Player of the Game honors for their clutch performances in what will go down as one of the most memorable wins of the season for Bethel Christian.
